Kamiah Irish Festival
On March 17-18 will be Kamiah’s second annual St. Patrick’s Day Irish festival with activities for all ages.
Friday night, March 17, The Kamiah Teen Center welcomes area teens for a dance from 8-10 p.m. Adults are invited on a pub crawl visiting five drinking establishments in Orofino and Kamiah. One fee will pay for a seat on the bus, event T-shirt and an Irish swag bag. Event begins at the Kamiah Hotel Bar and Grill at 3 p.m. returning by 8 p.m. for Irish food and music.
On Saturday, March 18, grand marshals Dean and Shirley Roach will lead the parade at 11 a.m. Bring your wee-ones, ages 2-10, dressed as leprechauns for a costume contest at the Welcome Center at 10 a.m. After judging they can join the parade, as well as street games, face painting, vendors, music and dancing. A dodgeball tournament is from 3-5 p.m. at Wa-A’Yas Center.
Cottonwood Trick-or-Treat
D.A.T.E. (Drug and Alcohol Trends Education) will host a trick-or-treat event Monday, Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Parking Lot.
Grangeville Trunk-or-Treat
The annual Idaho County Sheriff’s Office Trunk or Treat event, Monday, Oct. 31, which this year will be in a new location.
This year’s event will be held at Advanced Welding & Steel (AWS), 257 U.S. Highway 95, and it will be held in conjunction with the third annual AWS haunted house. The free event runs 4-7 p.m.
Harvest Party
Grangeville Church of the Nazarene will host a harvest party Monday, Oct. 31, from 4-6:30 p.m., in the church parking lot. The public is invited to stop by for treats, games, hot dogs and chili. The church is located at 515 W. N. 2nd Street.
Haunted House Fun
The Kamiah Hotel and YAB are partnering to put on a family-friendly haunted house this Halloween season. The house is at 501 4th Street in Kamiah, cost is by donation, and it is open Oct. 27-31, 6-10 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 2: It’s Kub Friday, so wear Kub colors!
9 a.m.-5 p.m. The Annual Central Idaho Art Association Art Show will be held by the Central Idaho Agency at 5th and Main.
9 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be a Central Idaho Art Association Art Walk at local businesses.
4 p.m.-7 p.m. The Kamiah Senior Center Spaghetti Feed will be held at 125 Maple Street.
5 p.m. Chamber Beer Garden will open at 5th and Idaho Street.
7 p.m. The Kamiah Kubs football team will play against Raft River at the KHS Football Field
8 p.m.-12 a.m. UYLC Teen Dance is going to be held after the football game at the Teen Center, on 405 Main St in Kamiah. This dance is free to all 7th-12th graders, and water and Gatorade are provided.
8.30 p.m.-12 a.m. The Kamiah Hotel Bar and Steakhouse, on 501 4th Street, will be hosting a karaoke contest.
9 p.m. A Street Dance will be held at the Chamber Beer Garden, with VisionSeekerz and other local talent playing live music.

12:30 p.m. The UYLC Duck Race will be held at Lawyers Creek, and winners will be announced at 3 p.m. Every duck has a number and the first three to cross the finish line win the race. Every duck is $10 dollars, and there are 550 ducks available. YAB members will be in Kamiah all throughout the day selling the tickets until 3 p.m.
1 p.m.-8 p.m. The Y.A.B Youth Zone will be held at the softball field of the Wa-A’Yas. All ages are invited to come with no entry fee. There will be attractions, rides, bounce houses, etc.
2 p.m. The It’se Ye Ye Casino Karaoke Contest will be held at the east casino parking lot.
2 p.m. A Chamber Auction will be held at 5th and Idaho.
4 p.m. A Cornhole Tournament will be held at Hogsback Deli and Ice Cream.
5 p.m.-7 p.m. There will be a free barbeque, cooked by Chef Charlie Nickel.
8 p.m. There will be a Street Dance Under the Stars, with The Katz Band playing, at 5th and Idaho.
8:30 p.m.-12 a.m. The Kamiah Hotel Bar and Steakhouse will be hosting the Diego Romero Band.

The 46th annual Chief Lookingglass Pow-wow is set for Aug. 19-21, in Kamiah, Idaho.

Saturday, Aug. 20: Huckleberry pancake feed at 7 a.m.; Fun Run at 8 a.m.; Friendship Dinner at noon; grand entry at 1 p.m.; dinner break at 5 p.m.; Main Street parade at 6 p.m.; grand entry at 7 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 21: Grand entry at 1 p.m.; dance contest finals, crowing new royalty, raffle winners, dance contest winners, and retire colors.

Elk City Days
Elk City Days is Aug. 12, 13 and 14.
Friday, Aug 12: Kiddies Parade, sign-up at 4:30 p.m., with the parade at 5 p.m., gather on Main St. near the post office; baseball game at 6 p.m. at the Elk City School ball field; live music at 8 p.m. at the VFW.
Saturday, Aug. 13: VFW Auxiliary Breakfast, 7-10 a.m.; Ping Pong Ball Drop at 9 a.m. at the airport; Main Parade – sign-up at 10 a.m. with the parade at 11 a.m., gather upper Main Street; melodrama during the parade, starring local Elk City Characters; Quilt Show, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sawdust Scramble for the kids at noon at the VFW; Greased Watermelon Obstacle Course at noon for kids and at 6:30 p.m. for adults at the VFW; 4-H Chicken Poop Bingo at 3 p.m. – get your numbers after the parade; 4-H Kids Gold Panning after the parade until 3 p.m. on Main Street; Logging Show & Competition begins with youth events at 1 p.m. in front of the ambulance shed; the Great American Bath Tub Push Race at 5 p.m. on Main Street; end the day with live music at 8 p.m. at the VFW.

Raspberry Social
The Monastery of St. Gertrude Raspberry Social set for Sunday, Aug. 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission to the museum will be free; donations are accepted.
The Cottonwood Lions and The Hangout will provide food. There will also be ice cream, beverages, the famous raspberry shortcake and raspberry products booth. There will be live music on the lawn, a vintage sale, and an art show.
Dixie Days
Dixie Days are set for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6 and 7.
All activities will be held at the 4th of July Park.
Events include vendor booths, kids crafts and games, horseshoes, cornhole, a silent auction and a wine pull. Hamburgers will be served during the events, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Events include the baseball game at noon Saturday, followed by a new attraction of water kickball. There will also be a dunking booth with a jail. Kids fishing derby is set for 7-11 a.m.; crafts from 9-11 a.m.; and horse shoes and cornhole tournaments both start at 10 a.m. Music with a live band is set for 5 p.m.
Also, at 4 p.m., a food truck will be open for the evening and then Sunday morning for breakfast. At 10 a.m., Sunday, the raffle drawing for a Henry US Survival AR-7 22 rifle and five yards of gravel delivered within 10 miles of Dixie will be held. Tickets will be for sale at the event.

Riggins Hot Summer Nights
Hot Summer Nights 2022 is on Friday and Saturday, July 22 and 23. The Talent Show is on Friday, at 6:45 p.m., admission is $5 at the gate. On Saturday is the free car show; Hot Summer Nights bands from 3 p.m.-midnight, admission is $10 at the gate.
Hot Summer Nights Car Show on Saturday is open to any year, electric vehicles as well as classic cars and trucks. There is free online early registration at https://www.signupgeniuis.com/go/70a044ea4a623a6fd-carshow. Gates are open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for the car show, admission is free.
Elk City Wagon Road Days
Friends of the Elk City Wagon Road will host the 31st anniversary of the Elk City Wagon Road Days celebration Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17.
Saturday events include the quilt show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; parade lineup from 9:30-10:30 a.m., with the Main Street parade at 10:30 a.m.; hamburger lunches cooked and served with chips and soda, available for $5, from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; and at noon an old-time gospel hour, followed by the variety show. Vendors and parade participants are welcome; no fee, just show up.
On Sunday, beginning at 6:30 a.m., is a breakfast, and at 8:15 a.m., a guided tour of the 53-mile wagon road begins in Clearwater. Raffle ticket drawings will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Stites Days
8 a.m. events: Breakfast burritos being sold in front of the Silver Dollar Pizzeria and Pub; Horseshoe signups-$10 entry fee.
9 a.m. events: Horseshoe singles followed by doubles; parade lineup.
10 a.m. events: Main Street parade. After the parade, there will be an egg toss.
10:30 a.m. event: BBQ in front of City Hall
1:30 p.m. event: Cornhole for adults and kids -$10 entry fee.

Kamiah Fly-In
The Kamiah Fly-In is Saturday, July 9, at 121 Airport Road, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free introductory flights for youth ages 8-17 will be available; a guardian must be present. Breakfast is 7-11 a.m. ($10 donation for adults; kids $5). Lunch is 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and a 50/50 raffle will be held.
Stites Days
Tacos in the Park is at 5 p.m.
Bingo in the Park is at 6 p.m., 35 cents per card. Bring your own chair to events.
Prairie Days
The 40th annual Nez Perce Prairie Days are set for this weekend, Friday and Saturday, July 8 and 9.
Friday will start out with the coed softball tournament at 5 p.m. at Lions Field, followed by pulled pork and the ice cream social at 6 p.m.at Lions Park. The Pioneer of the Year award will be announced at 7 p.m., followed by live music with the band “Upside Rudy.”
Saturday’s American Legion breakfast is from 7 to 10 a.m. at the legion hall, followed by the fun run/walk and softball tournament, both at Lions Park. At the same time, 3-on-3 basketball will start at the tennis courts. The sidewalk chalk art contest will run from 8 to 10 a.m. at Lions Park.
Parade lineup is 10 a.m. at the South end of Main Street by the grain elevators. with the kiddie parade at 10:45 a.m. starting at the courthouse, followed by the main Prairie Days Parade at 11 a.m. on Main Street. The Nezperce School tour is set for 11:30 a.m., and library and historic exhibits will be set up at 602 4th Ave. from 11:30 am. to 3 p.m. Cornerstone Teen Center will host an open house at 505 5th Street from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Look for music in Lions Park from noon to 3 p.m. with the button drawing at 1 p.m. A cornhole tournament will be held in the park beginning at 1 p.m. and kids’ races and games will take place at 3 p.m. Enjoy live music with the band “American Bonfire” from 8 p.m. to midnight. Note food vendors will be available all day Saturday.
